I'm not impressed by any of Apples products, alot of fanboys buy their products to think they have the latest gear but usually has outdated hardware.

I admit Apple do seem to always be the first to release new idea's but that doesn't mean they were the first to think of it.

To my eyes the 2 main things that it will do and surely do very well, is provide a new hand-held gaming platform/experience (Once the ipad specific apps start rolling out this could be huge) and provide an e-reading experience far superior to anything else out there at the moment (Visually anyway) including books, mags, comics etc. Apple will sell stacks of these on those 2 points alone (Plus make a fortune in the process) and who knows what it will be capable of doing once the apps start rolling out for it (It will already run almost all of the current iphone apps too).

I don't think the target audience was ever really the netbook crowd nor was it intended to be a tablet with traditional PC functions. Basically what I'm saying is that I think people are confusing who this is aimed at which is in my eyes is the average Joe who might not be particularly computer literate but likes the easy access to casual gaming, reading materials, variety of apps. etc. that this provides and has no interest in operating systems, office apps etc.

The iPad will sell mostly on one point alone, and that is that its an Apple product, so all the faithful will be queueing up to buy it, regardless of what is does or does not do.

Going by Apple's previous attitude to apps on the AppStore, it will only allow things that are blessed so there iWill be no certaintly as to who can or iCannot sell apps on the store.

No matter what else the platform does, the simple fact that is is locked into Apple's policies will make it a bad buy for most.

Now just because someone uses an Apple device does not make them a FanBoy (see specs). Thus far all I see in the iPad, or any tablet device is the failed "Apple Newton." I think that the only one to buy a Newton was Steven Segal who used into in "Under Siege 2."

If you were one of the true faithful, you would not have bootcamped win7. You are committing sacrilege against the one true God.

On the flip, a lot of the "faithful" are not generally so enlightened.

I hate Sony
Ok. So I have a Sony Viao laptop. I decided I wanted to upgrade the HD, so I bought a new one, and installed Windows 7 on it. Went to the Sony website and downloaded all the drivers, and suddenly was unable to do any Windows Updates. I spoke with Microsoft, and everything they told me to do didn't...
