OH YEA, I know what you mean. Galveston was the only beach I ever knew. It was fine. I went down there and had a good time. Then I took a trip to Cancun. Well, I can not stand Galveston now. It is just terrible.

I have a great uncle in Dallas who had a beach house in Galveston. Ike completely destroyed the place.

I live 50 miles north of Galveston. Ike was bad, but I only had my fence knocked down and lost a lot of shingles off the roof. 50 miles is everything in a hurricane.

This is a before and after shot of when Hurricane Ike hit. Believe it or not, it is the same place in Galveston. Click on the pictures to enlarge them. The destruction is amazing.
