Funny, the two laptops I have in my house are backlit. I have an ASUS that has a backlit keyboard and my wife has a Macbook Pro that is backlit.

I've often thought about those and wondered just what they'd be like.
At present I'm using a two tone keyboard it's the Microsoft MultiMedia one so the top half is dark grey and the bottom is beige, we also have one that's black which my husband used for a while.
I'm another touch typist but as it was many years ago that I first learnt I do on the odd occasion have to look down
while i am a touch typist. i do so in a very unconventional way. i only use one hand on my keyboard using fghj as the starting points for my fingers and the other hand usually stays on my mouse. this does however make using capital letters more difficult as you may notice i rarely use them without forcing myself to. i also like my keys to have a nice soft blue back lighting to them. i find it easier on the eyes than red in a dark environment.
I love the colour of my keyboard. Chrome and black. Matches my case perfectly. I'm very fashion conscience and far from a slob.
Strangely no. After reading your question I tried smearing my prints on it but it still looks brand new
The question why are keyboard black. Before, this thread and my thinking about it, I just assumed the black makes the white keys easier to see. Not everyone knows touch typing and some people have vision disabilites.
