My second car when I was in High School
Sure wish I still had it
Here is my Dad's dream car (and my dad). It is a 1929 Ford Model A Cabriolet. These are pretty rare.
He loves that car. He has had it since 1963. He bought that one and I bought a 1931 Model A coupe. It and motorcycle were my only means of tranportation.
I imagine that they are difficult to drive compared to today's cars, but man, they do look great.
The steering is very quick and the power steering is by armstrong. Having grown up and learned to drive without power steering, it is no big deal to me.
Now the brakes are a different story. They are mechanical linkage via rods. You don't want to follow to closely!! And you don't want to lock them up (if you can). It is really a challenge to get all four adjusted the same. I installed hydraulic brakes on my 31 coupe that I used for every day use. I put the brakes back stock when I sold it.
My former brother-n-law had a black '57, 2 door Chevy when he married my sister.. was a beauty !!!
