I would go take it to a professional thats more qualified and if he couldn't fix anything well then I would change hard drives. Actually changing the hard drive might be cheaper than taking it to some guy. 60$ for a 500gb WD

if i couldn't run 7 I'd probably go back to Vista. either that or I'd try out the KDE environment in Linux.

IF I couldn't use win 7, I would use punch cards before going to vista. Obviously not a vista fan boy. XP pro sp2 maybe, ubuntu, perhaps.

Yep. Solid, it works.
7 is too new to say it's MS' best OS yet. Don't get me wrong, it's great...just too new.

XP is tried and true.

New mobo, couldn't reinstall windows
So, i had to buy new gpu/mobo which means i had to reinstall windows but i couldn't. I have tried more than 5 iso's and none of them worked. Somehow i had to use the computer so i install elementaryOS(linux). Any thoughts? I really need windows since new mobo/gpu drivers are only for windows....

I couldn't delete Windows.old folder.
