Pebbly so sorry about your long time friend.. those seem the worst of all.. it's soooo hard to give up a friend.. first of all friends don't come easy... to most of us.. we grow to love them so much over the years.. we know then so well... prayers that this will go well for you...I'll be thinking about you..

Thank you very much, LadyPink. Only my dad is left of his generation out of six brothers. All of my mom's siblings are deceased. Of my first cousins, I am the third oldest. I have three distant cousins older than I; but most of my relatives are younger. The longer you live, the more family and friends you loose.

Today I made a complete fool of myself. First weekday after retirement, so of course I need to brag. Half an hour in front of the mirror, checking that my extra casual look (three day beard, old jeans and t-shirt, broken Nike's, no watch etc.) is OK, and then to the pub where my friends, ex-colleagues normally have lunch. Went early, stayed long. Didn't surprise anyone, heard 'we were betting you'd come today!'

Still learning...

Kari .. Hang on.. you'll get the hang of being retired.. it does take some time however.. lol...Glad you enjoyed your 1st day of being retired..
