Back home, was a nice party. At the moment enjoying the peace, getting some R & R with S & S (scotch and soda), am not drunk enough yet (still some blood in my body alcohol).

Got this from staff, from other gifts the most interesting was a years subscription of Naked News

Geeks, I'm no PC builder or technician, allow me to ask something that might sound elementary to you: if I have PSU made for European market, can it be used in America? I mean, this AC / DC stuff and volts or something?
Nice computer, Kari; that is a very good gift. Congrats!

On what is always the most grinding day in existence at my job ..... it, uh, wasn't. I think out of 8 hours, I literally did maybe 25 minutes of actual work. I work at a camping resort, and tomorrow its the official (annual) opening. You can imagine all of the grunt work that goes into maintaining a park with 1000+ residents. But I didn't do squat . Tomorrow is probably going to be a little hectic, but meh. All in stride.

    ........yay.

Today my main computer died...I woke up to a dead box...Looks like its a power supply problem. Fortunately, I have this ancient Gateway with XP, but I miss my Windows 7
Not a good start to any day, sounds like you got a solution for it already, sure are some nice people around here

Thank you Ted and Robert I'll look into that program, as I said I have to have everything in place and clear in my mind before I do anything just to make sure I do it right.
That's the best way, I do the same thing - usually. Partition Wizard is a great program, will take a little reading but it's easy enough.

That's a very thoughtful gift, they must know how much you like your computers. Enjoy the computer and the warm thoughts behind it.
I think your really going to like it

Most PSUs are multi voltage, either a switch on the back or auto switching. Should be no problem, just have a look at the info printed on the PSU.

Now it's time to enjoy yourself, you deserve it.

    Today is computer maintenance day.

Can anyone tell me how the backup HDs can become such a mess?

Spent four hours deleting/moving/copying, they are looking better now.

I know I'm a bit late in the day Kari but many congratulations on your retirement.
Hopefully you can chill out with your family and enjoy yourself.
Also enjoy your lovely new machine. Gaming rigs are pretty good at everything I've found.:)

Those markings on your cat look like those masks that some of those wrestlers wear.
