Today I heard that the Gulf Oil slick will probably hit the Southern Hinterlands...there goes the beaches...I only live about a mile from the shores and am not a happy camper...
The local trains strike was finally called off. :)
In the morning, I reached office after travelling for 4hrs.
Now reached home.
Agreed Noobvious. I've only seen it on TV documentaries, but the Mississippi Delta area looks amazing in terms of unique habitats for animals and plant life.
Also it also involves some pretty unique cultures and ways of life for the folk down there.
Heard on the radio today that some of these wells are a mile under water!
There's absolutely no light, tremendous pressure and it takes ages to get down and up again.
Might as well be on the moon in terms of sending a team of engineers down to fix it.
Sounds like a few things were missed off the agenda when they okayed this project and others like it round the world.
When they're doing stuff on the edge like this, that can't be fixed if it screws up, I reckon they should have a referendum in areas that might be affected.
Just ranting:)
