8 pin ATX = 4+4 plug that connects to the motherboard for CPU power (some motherboards have a 4 pin slot, others have an 8 pin slot).

The 8 pin plug is a 'detachable' plug that can be separated into two 4 pin plugs.

This is different to the 6+2 8 pin PCI-E plug used to connect your video cards etc...

also it has dust filters everywhere. I have 11 fans in mine and it's still reasonably quiet, the Cosmos S is quite noisy I've found:)
Just out of curiosity, do you feel that having 11 fans is actually necessary? For example, does your heat rise substantially to dangerous levels with only 1/2 of those fans running?
Good point. I don't know. there are 3 240mm and 3 120mm with the case, two on the Noctua HSF, one on the psu. More than 11 in fact.

    Runs well anyway

Here's a PSU a few of us have, I've got one for my new rig, read the specs for yourself.

    It has 2 EPS/ATX12V 8-4 pin and 6 PCI-E 6+2 pin

does the PSU have a 8 pin cpu power connector?
Ah, I was thinking you meant the case or something.

Yes, my PSU has a 4 pin, 8 pin, and 2 6 pin connectors, as well as 6 power connectors and 6 SATA power connectors.

Should be enough for a full load, with 1 video card. Won't work for 2 though...

I also did a preliminary setup with some fabric last night. I took off the front cover and side fan and taped a thin fabric over them. Looks normal, but I have not yet had a chance to see how it does on dust, etc. I will try to make a better frame for it later.

    Really Nice.

Corsair PSUs in general, are all top notch IMO though.
