What are your techniques for avoid procrastinating ?

    Hey

I'll admit it, whenever there's something that needs to be done, generally I tend to procrastinate a lot and put it off until the last minute.

I would like some opinions, how do you overcome your procrastination ?

For example today I would like to get one of my school assignments done, however I just feel lazy.

My assignment isn't due until the end of April

    Any thoughts ?

I just put off thinking about it....LOL.

Seriously I try not to procrastinate.

A friend of mine does, badly. He has various electrical and plumbing issues in his abode that have needed attention for 3 years now, to my knowledge, and he is still saying, "I'll do that soon".

I add the task that needs to be done on my phone and have it remind me every:

1hr if has to be done today
    5hr next day
    8hr next 2-5days
    12hr next week
    daily anytime after that

    I heard about a procrastinator's club.

I'll look into joining it some day.

I have depression issues along with just normal procrastination, but I have found success very recently on a few things...

Just do whatever it is for a few minutes. then if you stop fine... Do another few minutes later in the day or in the morning.

For me, I have found that once I get started, I don't mind it, so I will keep going longer than I expected to.

Also, if you are feeling sluggish and lazy, perhaps better diet, or supplements, and some exercise will help as well. Plus, just getting something accomplished (even if only partially) makes you feel real good.

Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.

Angie, my dear wife adds the task that needs to be done on her notebook and reminds me every:

0.1 hr if has to be done today
    0.5 hr next day
    0.8 hr next 2-5days
    1.2 hr next week
10 times daily anytime after that

The bad news is, they never got around to holding the first meeting.

The good news is, they never collected the dues either.
