RAM in the past and now in 2010?

    How about 1.2K of RAM (it was called Core Storage in those days) on an IBM 1401 in 1961. And we felt like kings when it was upgraded to 4K of RAM. Even the /360 series had Mod 30's with 8 and 16K.

    Probably used so little ram since it just read from the drive as it transcoded.
