Anybody shop at or buy from CDJapan - Japanese Anime, Jpop, Japanese music, Game music, Japanese movie, CD, DVD. I’m a music collector and looking to get a few hard to find CD’s that CD Japan appears to have but know nothing of them.
Anyone have any dealings with them?

I've purchased from them for years. You may find a bit lower price elsewhere, but their customer service is spectacular. I highly recommend them.
Yeah I've looked around for lower prices but for what I'm looking for their prices aren't any higher than most places and in some instances are actually lower.

Yea CDJapan is the best, I used to use yesasia and I Still do as a last resort but their processing time is ridiculous even for imports, took them over a month to get me my thing. It takes CDJapan with regular shipping maybe 3 weeks. So yea CDJapan is excellent. Excellent customer support too. High recommend them. I got Ayumi Hamasaki's A Complete paid like 10 bucks extra for express shipping, I got it in a week! :O

When I need CDs from Japan (from JPop/JRock to Eurobeat and Japanese releases of worldwide artists often includes bonus tracks), I always shop there. IME (In my experience), I never ever had a problem with them. The package always arrived, the CDs were perfect. Go ahead, they are the best!
...And expensive. Between shipping (3-6 days as opposed to 1-3 weeks) and conversion rates (dollar to yin), a $45 dollar purchase for two CD's tuned into $68 and change
I really can't complain though since the CD's are hard to find here in the states and I really really wanted them. Now I just have to wait on delivery.

yeah, shipping from Japan to the US is a bitch, but, a small price to pay for bonus tracks, superior mastering and packaging and just otherwise impossible to find stuff. Glad to see everyone else who's responded has had as a positive relationship with them as I have.
Well I just got my CD (Weather Report - Mr. Gone on Blu-Spec CD) from CD Japan today. My other CD was out of print. Packaging was professional; CD arrived in pristine condition.
Here’s the breakdown….
The CD was $26.08 US (2381 Yin)
Shipping 3-5 days $17.28 US (1500 Yin) – Arrived 4 days after PayPal e-check clearance. Standard shipping would have been 1-3 weeks.
Total came to $42.35 (US) WOWSER!!!
So was it worth it? Well, I looked high and low for this CD. Everyone had it out of stock except Amazon.com where I originally ordered it ($36 dollars) only to have them tell me they were unable to get it. In the end sometimes you have to pay for what you want.
If you’re looking for hard to find items you might want to give CD Japan a try, however be warned that shipping can get expensive. You pretty much have to choose Express shipping if you want your item any time soon as standard shipping can take 1-3 weeks before you get the item. And that’s after the initial 3-5 days it takes CD Japan to ship the item!!! BTW… standard shipping is around $10.00 dollars so…
Other than that CD Japan was very professional in my dealings and the packaging is very well done to protect your items.
Would I deal with them again? Yes, but only on hard to find, can’t get it nowhere else, just have to have it items.
