Worked as a Network Support Tech for some years. I am also an artist.... like to call myself that anyway.

Started my own business from home as in our neck of the woods there is no Tech Support for computers.

Seems like both you and I have the babyface genes....
My two oldest children are older than you, that was the first marriage, and my youngest are younger, second marriage and he's my toy boy.

I started out as a Programmer\Systems analyst working on the Colossus project at Swinburne Tech in the late 60's (Colossus was a computor device used to decode messages in WW2. The project was named after that to recognise the work done at Bletchly Park. It had Red and Green Valves - Programmed by punch tape and could do incredible things like adding to 999. 1000 was a problem as the binary code got a bit complex after that (Heh Heh)). Worked as a Programmer\Systems Analyst on the IBM 1440 for a number of years then went to GMH as an Industrial Officer. Joined Geosource (Oil Exploration, Houston) in 1980 as Personnel Manager (Far East), based in Singapore. I commuted between Singapore and Brisbane for about 8 years. Geosource had 5 Tempus Super Computers in the Far East recieving field data by satellite, processing it and transmitting refined data to various locations throughout the world. I was also Department Head for the Data Centres in Beijing, Singapore and Brisbane. Took early retirement in 1998. Built an Art Gallery Complex near Gladstone Queensland, where we train budding Artists in Painting, Sculpture etc. We also do Corporate Training in Health and Safety and Human Resources. I am supposed to be retired again, but they won't let me. Keep finding "Little Jobs" for me.

What sort of artist? I took up oil painting as soon as senility started to set in.

    Hi norm,

I've had a few people call me an "artist" over the years, hence the avatar , in fact it may be a major reason, with me, that senility is setting in

Drinking may not be an art form, but getting away with it and remaining married is. Not that I am suggesting you drink, of course. But, I couldn't help but wonder just a little bit.

    Hi Norm,

Have been known to imbibe a drop or three in my past, am now a reformed character, have been around the business all my life and have seen what it can do to people, was always told " live to drink, not drink to live " .

Funnily enough never touched a drop when I was working, so must still be in control, Don't miss the Saturday nights at closing time persuading the ladies and gentlemen that it's time to leave, or the eighteen hour days, but miss the social side.

Will have a drop over the holidays but not too much that I can't make sure "her indoors" gets home safe.

In my younger days we used to measure distances by the "carton". When describing how far a place was we would say "Oh, it's about one and a half cartons down the track", or "About 3 tinnies"

Hi Norm, Paintings in various mediums. Some fairly straight forward landscapes, but if I tell you that Kandinsky is my muse you will understand.
