Donations?

I might have asked thie via post or personal email before. If I did I apologize I forgot what I was told.

Why is there no donation button? Can someone fix it?
(I am speaking about the donation button you find on many forums or 'helpful' service/software sites)

I was also curious why do 'you' want to help me or 'them'? Are you that bored? Is it fun? Does it help you? I am not being an ass. This place is 100 times more helpful than microsoft social forums.

It's a two way street... I help you and someday you will (hopefully) help me.

The donations have been removed, guest ads pay for everything now. John speaks about the decision in this thread.

Most member donate their time due to the enjoyment of talking about this great OS, but mostly from the satisfaction of helping others.

This last Christmas a young mom tells me that she bought her daugher a new computer for Christmas, trying to set up Parental Controls, she screwed up the computer and everything froze. She was afraid that her daugher would have no Christmas. The thanks that I received after gettting the computer working, made my Christmas.

For me, it's simply for the pure pleasure or chatting with and helping out fellow nerds...of course I learn tons along the way.

I do forums because I'm almost addicted to them. It's fun, interesting and a community full of people with similar interests.

Donations to Dinesh & Kavita
Just wanted to post that what Kari has told us is true and no way has this been a scam or a rip off to line his own pocket. Having looked over the accounts I can say that Dinesh has indeed received more than the total of donations shown because Kari has covered the cost of the exchange plus...
