Any version that supports this...
Vista!!
XP had great performance but if you have the hardware to run Vista then i found it a much better OS.
The strange thing is when the various OS's have been released over the years I've seen improvements, over the previous, in every case except for XP
XP is Microsoft's longest available OS and after the first few years developed into a good OS - but at the start of it's life did not impress me over Win 2000 or NT4.
Windows NT for me, still have it on an old IBM thinkpad, it just worked no fancy desktop eye candy, just functionality.
I still enjoy my 8 year old Emachine with ME on it!!
Vista Is number one at the moment , Once i get RTM 7 it will be my main OS and therefor my favourite .
I will still dual boot with Vista as my "back up" OS , XP was cool in its day but to be honest id never go back to it.
I agree...and my favorite has been 7 since I booted the Milestone 3(? aww...the memories, the build with the Superbar) and vista second. Sorry XP fans but I absolutely hate that OS...I never had fun using it, I always sought alternatives (such as a long period of time that I used Ubuntu) and it never worked "as-good" as people swore it did (try using XP like a normal computer out of the box...it never comes with any drivers preloaded or what not). No matter what people said Vista all around was a better OS than XP but it wasn't implemented as well as it could have...that is why we have 7
PS I didn't mean to rant about XP to you folks who still like it...I just thought I would put my two cents into this.
My second favorite version of Windows is XP, with Windows 2000 trailing not too far behind.
In the most hated category, the honor goes to Windows ME and Windows 98 (First Edition).
