Hi,
For me , Vista does all I want it to do as well and as quickly as 7.
It boots quicker than 7, too.
I did modify it quite a bit - that's part of the fun.
Those same modifications are already included in 7, together with a few extra fancy bits, like Libraries - which are no use to me.
OOB, 7 will be preferable to most people for that reason.
Particularly useful to many will be the inclusion of Complete PC backup and Previous Versions, I believe they will be in the most widely used editions of 7 - they were only in the higher editions of Vista.
Although 3rd party disk imaging apps. and Shadow Explorer are even better, it is good they will be included.
Also of benefit to the average user will be the ability to create a recovery disc.
7 and Vista work equally well for me.
Wow, feel the overly defensive hate from the Vista fanbois.
Hi Dinesh,
FYI Team members can hand out infractions.
Pooch - I know what you mean. I enjoyed modifying/tweaking Vista and learnt a lot doing it.
Most people don't want to modify or customize anything - except maybe pretty bits, like wallpapers.
They just want the o/s to do the job, straight out of the box - you'd be surprised how many people don't even know what o/s they have been using every day on their (usually) laptops.
Many people I speak to are interested in how their their laptop looks - shiny black ones seem to be popular now - they don't care at all about the o/s as long as it doesn't give them any grief.
For them 7 is easier.
