I'm not seeing any Rep Power / Given etc sections on my CP page.

    does this mean:
    a) I don't have any power?
    b) I'm looking in the wrong place?

    c) Something-else?

Check in user CP (control panel)

Well first off you must have received some rep to get a green "blob" If you had none that would be grey! When you click on User CP you should see
"Windows 7 Forums » User Control Panel" at the top. Then there should be three sections

    1. New Subscribed Threads:
    2. Latest Reputation Given
    3. Latest Reputation Received

    What do you see?
Just the New Subscribed Threads section (please see the attachment).

I wanted to check what power i have before giving rep. Or can I choose the level in the Repping dialogue?

Rep power is built by you giving reputation to someone. The more you give rep, the higher your rep power becomes.
I think it's the other way around Carl, with all due respect.
As I have seen ... it depends on three things . The rep you received, the rep you given and the number of your posts
Well, I live in the state of Confusion anyway! At least I was partially correct! As I have watched my rep power increase, it seems to be directly related to my repping others. However, I did not take into consideration the post count nor the rep I have received.

I reread the first post of this thread and it does not seem to explain how the rep power is generated.

Geeks, this is how rep power is built, as seen on page 1 of this thread:
    • +1 point for every 50 days of membership
    • +1 point for every 25 posts
    • +1 point for every 100 rep points received

Thank you Kari and Derek; I stand corrected and I learned.

I guess a staff member will have to clarify this further, I've never noticed mine go up from repping others, just from every 50 posts or from others giving me rep.

When you give rep, your rep (altering) power determines how many rep points the receiver gets. However, after some extensive misuse of the rep system, John put a cap of 50 points, so all those members who have rep power 50+, can only give 50 points. Members with rep power less than 50 can rep with full power.

And that may be what I was seeing as I only check my CP once a day or sometimes every two days.
