I guess watching food banks close the doors to feed people here in Orlando is hard to watch and then to hear they are sending 4,000 Haiti people to Orlando out of 45,000 that are coming to FL I just can't see how a state or let alone Orlando is going to house, feed and medically treat these people when we can't take care of our own homeless, hungry and medically needy citizens.

Houston took in lots of people from Kat. and the homeless population reached 30,000 in the years to follow, I met more people from Kat. relocation homeless then I did anything else.

Don't get me wrong I feel for these people, but we all know we can't afford to take care of them when we can't take care of our own. Florida can't handle the amount of money needed to give them the basics, we have the highest unemployment rate in the country at least i know its above 11% I also know food prices in Central FL are crazy and with food banks closing for lack of funds who is going to feed these people? who is going to shelter these people? We are being told they will be here soon and honestly this state can't afford to help honest truth even tho it sucks to say it.

Maybe they will take it out of the Billions upon Billions upon Billions
that they are spending on looking for a man hiding in a cave in Afghanistan.

    @ macgyver2

Not to sound "Anti-American" but you might find that we are bit more compassionate about our neighbors in this world we all call home, despite the cries of the Sarah Palins or Rush Limbaughs.

Oh...And let's not forget, poorer countries helped us out during the Hurricane Katrina fiasco, but we won't talk about that.

While I can understand your frustration of our government's lackluster support of social programs to help the less fortunate, we as humans have a duty to help those in need. Whether abroad or at home. Anything less is sheer ugliness.

    My two cents.

Well I don't follow politic as I wouldn't vote for any of them so I don't care for what they say so I have no clue what the comment about those 2 people means.

As for it being ugly what I am trying to say is something that already is very ugly. Everyone agrees we can't afford these people I am just one of a few who has the courage to say anything.

Be as compassionate as you like, just don't make rash choices like where to place disaster victims in the middle of a City that can't take care of its own.

I guess I wouldn't invite others into my home for dinner when I don't have enough food to feed myself let alone 4 guests, and that's what Florida is doing in my opinion. It feel like they are putting them here not caring that they could struggle or fail to survive just to please themselves saying well we gave them a chance in sunny FL.

Ted ought to see a doctor about that cough of his. Seriously though, I know that the San Andreas Fault runs through California, so is there currently heightened activity with that? Hope it's not affecting you too much, Aaron. :)
