I would love to help and donate money.
Which is the best site to do so where the majority of the money goes to those in need and not to the administrator's bank account?

Yes they do have Red Cross in US.
I just want to make sure that the biggest % goes to the people of Japan.
    Your donation will be appreciated.

I think the Red Cross is a trusted organisation and I believe a high % of donated £/$ goes to the cause ... thats my opinion :)

Please be very careful when looking for online information on the catastrophe in Japan or for donation websites; many malware/scamming criminals are, as so often, exploiting the situation. More can be read on one of Symantec Norton's blogs:

I heard that it was soo bad, that it sped the Earth up by one nano second. Making the World's day a bit shorted. o.o

They say that it also shifted the Earth's Axis by 4 inches.
In all, the earthquake shifted the axis of the Earth by 24 centimeters, the mainland of Japan by 2.4 meters, and slowed down the rotation of the Earth by about six microseconds.

All in all, I'm not too worried if these nuclear plants go belly up. That it took them this long to do so is in my book a great booster in the confidence of the quality of design that goes into these things now-in-days.
NASA have said it sped up the Earth's rotation by 1.8ms.
