With Windows 7 heading towards RC stage, its getting closer to planning and saving for the Windows 7 Release Party.

So I hope there will be no party poopers who consider that not buying it is beneath them or that Microsoft dont deserve the money.

With Windows 7, I beg to differ. I think they have earnt every penny (cent), even at the price they charge for Ultimate.

Well put, Nick. I intend to purchase the retail version when it hits the shelves. Assuming that the upgrade/full retail versions are like Vista as regards installation, then money can be saved here by buying the upgrade version and installing twice. As regards W7 RC, I can't wait. :)

Same here....I have never purchased Windows besides what comes with a computer. I will be buying retail for my current box and switching to a self-built box. I hope they keep the prices down a bit....but doubt they will. What is retail Windows? $300 That's what I'm planning on.

I will be buying the full retail Ultimate as soon as the final is released, as I'll need an OS to put on the new i7 box I'm starting to acquire the components for.

Go for OEM if you are building your own rig.

I will be going for Ultimate, full retail. Not OEM ... I didn't with Vista Business or Ultimate.

    Hello jfar.

Then when (not if) I upgrade the mobo I'll have to buy another 7 and that makes no cents.
