Here is the 5pm advisory. Looks like my home is right in the path. I live just North of New Orleans. Good news is Florida took the punch out of it and due to shear in the Gulf it is not expected to strengthen very much. I still need to go fill my extra gas cans for the generator and pick up the patio stuff.

Hate to see what the oil is going to do.

They got rain in Tampa and Clearwater and into Pasco and Hernando counties but we are bone dry in Inverness (Citrus County).

It does look like the track is headed for Louisiana. Fortunately they do not expect it to gain much wind strength. I did hear that they closed flood gates in New Orleans. If it does hit there it may dump a lot of rain.

I have a friend who lived in North Carolina. He was telling me how he could never live here where we have all those earthquakes. I told him, we haven't had any significant quakes here since 1989. They have so many hurricanes there they have to name them! They have a season! Lol. A Guy

A minute ago they said on the news that Bonnie is weakening and that they do not expect any damage to the setup at the oil spill.

Here is the 10am info. Bonnie has weakened and our local forecast is for 2"-4" of rain and winds of 22mph. We are 40mi North of New Orleans. Rain bands stared this morning but real light.

Hey Phone Man, I used to manage a LAN/WAN Network and had lots of 3002 voice grade circuits at one time. Even had my own Halcyon test set for the data circuits. My screen name "fireberd" comes from the TTC "Fireberd" T1 test set. As I worked for SSA all my circuits were initially AT&T "long lines" circuits and later they were part of the FTS (Federal Telecommunications System) but were still AT&T.

We have had sprinkles and brief showers today in the Orlando area; but mostly we have had sunshine.

2010 Hurricane prediction
So a recent Reuters article says the Colorado State University hurricane forecasting team predicted 8 major storms this season. Well, even one can be bad news. I was pondering a question; if it wasn't for the side affects of radiation, I wonder what would happen to a Category 4 if you dropped a...
