Never really had a problem with Vista. On my Mac I run Win 7 in boot camp, and Vista SP2 64 in VMware Fusion. I like having Vista in the VM because it allows me to jump into Windows (using Office 2007) when working with Word (just hate Office 2008 for the Mac; poorly designed).
I liked and preferred Vista to XP from the get go, (warts and all).
Although, in hindsight, it did require a lot more tweaking out of the box than Seven does.
I couldn't go back to Vista full time (or XP) after Seven though.
The negative hype about Vista just wouldn't go away. It was bad at launch, was substantially improved with SP1 and beyond and was pretty decent thereafter. I guess it just proves the old saying, "A first impression goes a long way".
I always liked Vista over XP. Always. My XP machine required shutting down every single night; Vista would stay up and running for a month and a half before I started feeling it. And my Vista only crashed once (XP countless times). So I never understood why people hated Vista so much.
*I also used Vista and XP both every day for the last three & 1/2 years, so it's not like my experience is exactly limited, either.
Only 78%?
Too often using Vista was like using Windows in slow motion all the time. Thing was so slow.
That's funny. I had the exact opposite situation. Vista required me to restart almost daily because it would slow down and become sluggish. Rarely had that issue with XP.
I still like XP, but prefer 7.
