    Many thanks. I was confused.

So we have an XP SP3 desktop which does not function correctly.

Understandably, she is in a little bit of a panic-I would be too.

Now, forgetting all of the router stuff and disconnected from the internet--What is the problem?

I'm trying to understand the problem.
Karl.. that Correct..the desktop XP SP3 is NOT working right.
Ok.. here's what i did .. I un-installed a music converter program.. Prizm.. that I was not going to use anymore.. during this uninstall a thing popped up.. with a link in it.. saying if I need it later or something. anyway..I thought it had to do with a
Word Search CONNECTED with the program I was uninstalling.. of the Prizm program.. I was uninstalling.. so when I completely finished the uninstalling of Prizm..

I found Word Search and proceeded to uninstall it... when I rebooted.. I could NOT get back in to do anthing on my desktop..Windows XP..
I could see my Name on the screen.. with 191 un-read messages.. when I tried to click my name to put my password in.. didn't work.. on the lower left corner of this sreen there was an icon.. with a choice to close down.. kinda looked orange incolor.
    That's it ..

Hello LPt, save it to the desktop of the PC that's working, then you can go from there.

Now how can she download something when you're telling her to un-hook the internet?

Remember that you are going to burn the iso image that you download to a disc, then you are going to use that disc as a boot disc on your desktop...
