I think that that kind of sound production is making a comeback. I think I can detect a bit of it in this guy's work. I posted him before but I think this deserves a second listen:)

This is another one of them songs. I'm amazed by this live performance.

This reminds me of the first girl who loved me. This was our album (Abandoned Luncheonette) and when she went off with a guy called Dominic I played this constantly.
Later saw them live and they were amazing. Seemed to me they were white guys singing real soul without imitating black guys.
Must be in a soppy mood tonight:)
