I saw The New Barbarians:

New Barbarians

live in Oakland in 1979 (less than a year out of High School :) )
Great concert, but the greatest impression was made by the bassist Stanley Clarke. I had never heard of him before. He did a bass solo that I can only describe as Jimi Hendrix on bass! After he stopped, there was a 5 second total silence as thousands of Rock and Rollers sat slack jawed, then bust into mad cheers. Not the best singing between Ronnie and Keith, but oh the guitars :)
