Google page now lets you set your own background.

I agree and think it was a good idea to remove setting anything other than the white background as default, as that is pure Google. It's why I have always liked them more.
I do hope they keep the option for those that want it though.

Sounds like it was a bit rushed.
I never use that page, so didn't notice it much.
Did check it out, and they didn't have many choices.
