Can't get into the Forum index page.

Normally I click on a desktop icon and go straight to the index page. Suddenly that icon takes me to the page that reads "What's happening" and shows the list of members"
I can get onto the general Discusion page via the link in a subscription email notification but when there clicking on Seven Forums takes me to the "What's happening" again. I can only get into the Forum index by logging out and going in as a guest. As soon as I log in I go to the same page again.
I have deleted cookies, Temp internet files, history all to no avail. Any ideas please and again apologies for wrong Forum but can't post to any other.
Feel a bit thick asking this

    Hi Mitch

Cant welcome you to the Forum, you are not that new

In any event, if you go to hidden files etc, you can find the hidden cookies and deelte any SF cookies from there. I had a problem on a site and delted the normal way and found some still hidden. Hidden cookie location. You have to set the system to show hidden files first.

You could try going to the following page and selecting and deleting all cookies - vBulletin > My Cookies

Well Mitch its your choice, now. You can do it my way, which is hard and time consumming or John's way which is quick and easy. Your choice.

Well I tried John's way, selected all the cookies, hit delete but the cookies stayed in place, unable to delete. No message rec'd.
Tried the long way but could not locate a "Roaming" folder. Have tried system restore before to the problem started but to no avail.
    Any further thoughts please?

Mitch, we have to find a solution, we will miss you and want you to come in the front door

Show hidden files, before you try my solution.

How to see hidden files in Windows Vista
    Works the same in 7

Johns idea, however, may have delted the hidden, too.

EDIT: removed something, was telling Mitch to do something which he already told he had tried (I misread the post).

Well I think I have been ultra thick today. When I tried John's solution the list of cookies remained, I was expecting them to disappear but I think as I checked each box then hit delete, it did in fact delete them. I say this because I knocked off for a hour or so and took my dog for a walk in the sunshine. When I returned everything was back to normal. My dog who has a very high IQ said it was her infuence which I'm inclined to agree with but I think John played a big part for which, thank you. Please accept a little rep.
The front door is now open.

    Hi Richard
Although the problem is now sloved I did go back to your post as I was bemused by not being able to locate "Roaming" folder. I did in fact find the cookies in \Users\UserName\AppData\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\Low
Having said that there is, I now realise more than one folder that contains cookies.
    I learn something new everyday!!!!
