    Most Viruses ever seen?

I'm just curious, what's the most viruses/malware anyone has ever seen on a PC?

The most I ever saw was about a year ago cleaning up a laptop from my wife's brother that he let the kids use for about 1 1/2 years until it would barely run.

I used AVG and it deleted 437 viruses/malware items and the boot up procedure/clean up ran for over 6 hours.

This was a laptop that was 3 years old.

PS...the reason I had to run this instead of doing a clean install? They lost the restore disk that came with it

That would have to be one of my brothers-in-law... who is routinely bringing his machine here for clean up. Although, lol, it's never been that bad.

I did the same thing for my neighbors laptop, with over 400 viruses, and was there 5hrs. For Free
Then they hired a guy to come in to fix something, charged them $30,left in 20 minutes and they couldn't figure out why it took me so long!
    I won't do that again.
    Yeah, I probably will.

For my mother in-law, she had over 300 virus/malware. I had noticed as well they hadn't ran the scanner for over a year, but kept it up to date lol

We had to cleanup 6 PCs of our computer club. They were infected mainly by people copying stuff from USB sticks they had brought in. It took one week since each PC had 3 operating systems installed. All systems were "protected" by AVG. I did not count the number of nasties, but there were many. Suffice to say that we do not use AVG any more.

Most I have seen is 375,000 when BitDefender thought every single file on my PC was a virus. Ended up killing the computer once BD ate it from the inside out. Entire process took about 7 minutes and happened on 2 computers.

I don't think that counts as that was most likely the bad update from BitDefender.
