I agree with you John, I also like the links at the bottom and I know where to find everything lol, but I still like the new skin as well, different strokes for different folks.

I definitely like the colors of the new skin, but soo many of the colors blend in so well that at times I miss things that should be right there under my nose, so to speak. I think offsetting things with a bit of orange would make this a very likable skin for me. Then again, I'd also go with a very dark skin, as I like dark backgrounds, too....

You're right - I would never have noticed that as I simply cannot afford (more like do not want to) have unused whitespace on my widescreen monitor - at a resolution of 1680 x 1050, that all the non-wide skins look, well, ugly, in that there is so much white (wasted) space on the sides...hence my preference for a wide skin.

In fact, it is the same reason why I am always running all my browsers in maximized mode, either to a single screen or to my entire desktop...Now *that* is efficient real estate use....

Here is a small tutorial I wrote on how to use BBCode efficiently with this board (and other boards that are based upon the BBS / Forum software being used - I am guessing that it is IPB?)...

    me said:
In every reply box, at the top right part of the reply box is a letter "A" - if you hover over it, in Rich Text Editor mode it prevents pasting items from the BBCode Xtra Extension, so you'll need to click it *once* to exit Rich Text Editor mode.

You can permanently set the type of editor that you will be presented every time you log into the board by going to your User Control Panel --> Edit Options --> Miscellaneous Options --> Message Editor Interface

In my set, there are three options available in the drop down:

    • Basic Editor - A simple text box
    • Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls
    • Enhanced Editor - Full WYSIWIG Editing

I have my profile set to use Standard Editor and it seems to work just fine - depending upon Fx version, though, you may be *forced* to the Basic Editor.
ALso, if you plan on using the Spellbound II extension I mentioned earlier in New skin to play with then you'll need to do one of these as well....

There seems to be a problem with some of the ajax functions in the vbulletin build I upgraded to this morning, I have turned a few bits off for now until I can get a fix
