I am so old, when God said let there be light, I threw the switch.

Actually will turn 70 in November. Never thought I would live this long.

    • "Real" gasoline was 27¢ a gallon
    • "Lucky Strikes" came with 2pennies wrapped inside the pack.
    • Everyone had a "party line" for the telephone, if you wanted a "Private Line" you had to pay extra.
    • There were no Personal Computers.
    • Depending on the size, you could get 2¢, 5¢, 10¢ refund for glass soda bottles.
    • And; I'm seven months from tapping into my 401 if I want to.

TV wasn't invented in my early days. Being respectful was!
We had TV, an old Sylvania with a frame lite, there were only two national channels, hardly any commercials compared to today, and they stopped broadcasting at 10pm.
You didn't give any sass to your parents if you wanted to stay up later than 9pm.

    Your close.

I was born six years later to the day that Emperor Hirohito's announcement of the surrender of Japan ended WWII.

Your forgiven. Actually I feel better for remembering some of those moments...

Even the Civil Defense Drills at home (No one knew how long the Korean war was going to last)...With the sirens going off, and running down into the cellar.

Okay, as Gary Moore would say (He had a variety show on one of the networks, I want to say CBS) ....."What was that wonderful year"?

    Your getting warmer!
If the Emperor capitulated on August 15, 1945, and I was born six years later it would be 19__
