I'm used to that people think I'm a woman, with a name like this. In Finland it's a popular male name, but native English and German speakers associate it to be a female name.
I get constantly those letters and offers "Dear Ms. (or Mrs.) Kari P., you might have won a super price" etc...
Some cases are difficult. I have been trying to contact different companies, requesting they change my gender in their customer records, but mostly it doesn't work. A good example:

Funny you should say that Kari :) Your name always reminds me of Digimon, one of the main characters was female I often have to remind myself that you are in fact Male

I'm a male, as I've looked through the posts, I saw something about "blueberry jam", well, every morning I drink tea with strawberry jam. Although I don't look like that in the morning...
