What other OS have you used in the past (not windows)?

    As I've been around computers, in one capacity or another, since "smoke signals" (1962) I've seen a lot of different Operating Systems. In my day job I worked with proprietary OS', IBM mainframes (IBM calls it the "Supervisor") from 360's to 3031's, XENIX, Novell 3.12 (which was basically DOS), and finally Micrososft from the old DOS days to present.

    In my personal PC's I started out with a Commodore VIC 20 and then to MS DOS and up to present systems.

    when i was in primary school i used the mac computers they were that old that they use IE as the browser that about it expect for most of the windows OS's

    Other than Microsoft (everything since DOS), I'm a Linux guy. I've tried all of the major distros, but my favorites are Debian based. Currently, in a dual boot setup with Win 7, I have Ubuntu Lucid at the office, and Debian Squeeze at home.

Hello. I have (in the past few months) been having issues starting my Lenovo G570 laptop, which runs on Windows 7 (unsure what bit), with AVG 2015 as its antivirus. It will turn on, and display the 'Starting Windows' screen. However, it will not load past this point, no matter how long I leave it....
