I have a problem, my computer has been freezing at random times. i checked the event viewer and i narrowed the problem down to being FilterManager because it was always the last error before i turned my computer off.
The error was:
File System Filter 'Avgmfx64' (6.0, ‎2010‎-‎09‎-‎07T00:49:14.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager.

I know this has a problem to do with the Anti-virus AVG, which i use. but every AV that i change it to i always get the same message but a different thing between the '....'

Any help appreciated?

If the problem has to do with AVG.
Why not uninstall and install Microsoft Security Essentials. It is basically trouble free and does a great job
If you start with a system restore point, you can try it as a test.

If you do uninstall use their unistall tool

i have already tried Microsoft Security Essentials and same problem still persisted but a different error, which was still FilterManager.

You have to unistall that AVG and the driver.
Use the uninstall tool
After uninstalled
go to search type
cmd
in cmd type
driverquery
if that driver is still there post and I will get rid of it for you

Before you make any changes, always start with a system restore. Things can and do go wrong.
Make a point before any changes. If my idea does not work or something else goes wrong, you can go right back to where you are now, nothing gained but nothing lost

Ok I've started the clean boot and selected half of those checkboxes. So if I'm right... If the problem comes again it has something to so with them ones I selected and if not I select the second half of the check boxes?

If it works in clean boot you put back a few at at time
When it comes back you know the cause is from one of the few that you just put back.
The problem would be from the ones that you did not change.

To understand each other.
If you selected half to be removed and you get the problem, the problem is from the half that was not removed.

Ok so I checkboxed the top half (which is about 9-10) and the problem is still coming back so now I gradually take one off them ones.

Follow the clean boot instructions exactly.
Take them all out
If the problem is gone, put a few back at a time, until the problem returns
If you take them all out and the problem still comes back, we know we have to look elsewhere. Then just put them all back,
