BSOD help

Started receiving problems 4 months ago. Ran memory and disk checks and cannot find any issues. Running Win 7 Home Premium 64bit retail edition. It has been reinstalled due to trying to fix the problem on my own. PC is currently 8 months old. I have looked into all the main drivers that I can think of and everything appears updated to me. Thanks for your time looking into this.

Two things

1-asacpi.sys (yours 2005)

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt

Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).

Download and install it.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT before).


2- Avast remove and replace with Microsoft security essentials.

For ASACPI.sys 2005 Driver,
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

2005 Version is a known BSOD cause with Windows 7.
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and Install it.
Then check if it is time-stamped as 2009 or 2010.

Avast should run fine with Windows 7 - if not, then go ahead and uninstall it.

Let me begin by saying thank you for taking the time to assist me with this. I have done as you asked by installing the updated driver file and verified that it is stamped as 2009 in my file directory. I have also uninstalled Avast and installed the MS program. Later last night, I had the same type of BSOD issue. I have ran another perfmon and similar information that I sent earlier. I was hoping there might be some new information contained in it. Thanks again for your time.
