It took some time, but now everything works fine. The switch is set to ON and no more BSODs!

I'm glad you have it working finally. The symptoms you described seemed to be that the FSB was increased 20%. With everything left on auto there seemed to be only 1 other reasonable explanation. I once owned an MSI board so was familar with the switch. It's MSI's 'claim to fame' but usually messes things up, as in your case. I'm glad it is working. But, it's a shame that you went through all of those changes because a simple switch was in the wrong position.
