stop 7e acpi.sys error when installing on new build

Hi there,

I am receiving a stop 7e error on install of windows 7 x64 on a new build pc.

My Components are:

AMD fx-8320 processor

Gigabyte 990fx-UD3 motherboard

16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM

vtx AMD Radeon HD 7850 x Graphics card

Western Digital 2TB hard drive

I have updated my motherboard to the latest BIOS.

Here is photo of the error I am receiving.

Again this is a new build without any previous installs so I cannot boot to safe mood etc.

Any further questions do not hesitate to ask I just need a solution.

Usual causes: Insufficient disk space, Device driver, Video card, BIOS, Breakpoint with no debugger attached, Hardware incompatibility, Faulty system service, Memory, 3rd party remote control.

If possible, take these tests in another computer with your new hardware ....

Test your RAM modules for possible errors. Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

I am asking to some hardware experts to have a look if your hardware are compatible or not.

It is not possible for me to test components in another pc as I do not have access to one suitable but all hardware is posting correctly before the windows start.

I checked all hardware compatibility before purchasing so that should not be the issue.

I am going to try and boot linux to see if I can get anymore error reporting.

Your hardware all seems good and should work well together. You might have a bad installer, is it a retail DVD, burned from iso or on a flash drive?
On a new build sometimes a connector gets missed or not fully seated (connected), go through the entire system and double check everything. GPU power connectors don't get fully seated many times.

I am using a legitimate copy on a bootable usb hdd.

Everything seems to working fine as it works correctly up until it freezes at the windows logo and starting windows screen. After it freezes I receive the blue screen I posted earlier.

I extracted an iso onto the hard drive then made the drive bootable through command prompt. Cannot remember exact commands but "bootsect.exe /nt60 d:" something like that?

I think if you make a DVD or USB Flash Stick you will get a good installation.
I think your attached bootable HD is confusing the install.

Yeah think I might need to go buy a usb drive because can't find one large enough to make bootable.

A 4gb will work, but I used a 8gb. They are fairly inexpensive nowadays.

This program called Rufus worked great to format the USB stick & install the .iso to it

Ok. I have bought a usb and tried to install windows that way and still receiving same blue screen. I have completely disassembled the computer and reconnected everything then tried again. Same bluescreen. Any more suggestions?

Ok, here we go to Trial & Error Experimenting.

Only use 2 of your memory sticks in alternating slots. Disconnect the Ext HD. Disconnect any other things not needed for install. (Printer, DVD/CD drive, wireless, etc.) Make sure the WD 2tb is connected to SATA port 0 or 1 on the MB for now. Remove & reseat your video card. double check all power connections to MB & video card. Was this a brand new HD when you tried the first install. We may have to use a partition Wizard Boot CD to format this HD again to a new blank drive. Connect the win7 USB Flash stick to a rear USB 2.0 port. Use the F11 key to get the boot menu on startup to choose the USB flash stick.

It's a brand new HD. It is a completely new build. I have already taken away all the peripherals and components not necessary. Right now I have the RAM in slots 1 and 3, HD in sata port 0 and graphics card in the top pci-e x16 slot. I have also double checked all connections are ok.

What edition of win7 ? Home, Prof, Enterprise, Ultimate ? Original release or with SP1 ?

Were you connected to the internet with an ethernet cable via the connection on the MB during install ? Sometimes during install it will download additional needed files for the install.

Did you make the USB as I described with the Rufus tool ?

It's win7 pro with sp1. I wasn't connected to the Internet while doing this. Yes I made the usb as you described.

It is not likely, but a possibility. I am downloading Windows 8 to see if I can install that. I am just getting frustrated with this because there doesn't seem to be a reason for this bluescreen.

A bad hardware or an outdated BIOS may also cause that particular crash, other than a corrupted iso. What is the date of the BIOS you installed?
