    Yes, I forgot to mention the use of Browse... as you can then select an icon from anywhere and use that. :)

    I have followed the instructions in the tutorial BUT...


    I was unable to change icons for "folders". It only seems to work with software icons. but not with any other icons existent in desktop.

    I am in windows 7 of course, any new discoveries since the older posts from 2010?

    Hello MSwhip,

    The tutorial posted in post #2 of this thread is only for the default "Desktop Icons" (ex: My Computer, Recycle Bin, etc..) and nothing else.

    Depending on if you wanted to change the icon of all folders, specific folders, or shortcut's of folders, then you might see if either of the tutorials below may be able to help. :)
