Task Mgr-"Show processes from all users" resets itself

In XP if you check the box "show processes from all users" it's then static unless you uncheck it. It doesn't reset itself if you close Task Mgr and /or reboot.

Under Build 7100 it does reset itself. If I close TM it resets. Same if I reboot while TM is open or closed.

Is there a way to make it permanent? Thanks. :)

Hello Michael, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You can create right click on the C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe file and click on Send To and Desktop (create shortcut).

Next right click on the shortcut, and click on Properties, Shortcut tab, Advanced button, check Run as administrator, click on OK, and OK.

When you check "show processes from all users" with this shortcut, it will not reset on you. :)

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Your tip worked great! Thanks!
So far my experiences/browsing on the SevenForums has been very positive. I think I'll stick around awhile.

I would think that you would have to get into the 'privilege level' part of the taskmgr.exe properties but i don't know how

If you turn UAC off, the box will always be checked.
