    Taskbar icons with custom lists, or different taskbar "modes"?

    Hey,

    Basically I am in the following situation:

    • I am a web developer - therefore I like to have applications such as Opera, Firefox, IETester, FileZilla, Visual Web Developer, DreamWeaver and several other programs open at the same time;
    • I am currently revising for an exam - therefore I may need to have Opera, Firefox, Word, Excel and several other programs open at the same time;
    • I sometimes like to watch films, listen to music, play games etc etc to chill out a bit - perhaps in a break from my revision.

    In each of the three above situations, I like to pin the icons to the taskbar. Problem is that to have them all pinned to the taskbar would make it overflow - even with DisplayFusion installed with a taskbar on both screens.

    Is there any way to group icons into one icon on the taskbar - so hovering over an icon called, say, Developer, will bring up a list of Developer icons (without having to open a window and open the programs from there)? Alternatively is there a way to change "modes" so that, on clicking Developer from a list, it will repopulate the taskbar with any programs I have previously added to the taskbar when in that mode? I do not want to create a user account for each mode - thats just long.

    If anyone knows of a way to do this or a program which may be able to achieve this then please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Regards,

    Richard

    PS I am working on (or planning to work on) several websites soon so it may be useful to have sub-icons - so the list for Developer has another list for each company I work for. I would like to achieve this if at all possible.

    PPS If any of this is confusing at all then please say so and I will try to expand on it.

    Hey,

    I have found the answer, and given it a try. Its JumpList Launcher - Jumplist-Launcher « Ali’s Dünnpfiff.

    Hope this helps out someone else facing the same issues.

    Regards,

    Richard
