    Default Folder View


    Is there a way to make all your folders display files in list view by default without changing each one?

    In Control Panel, go to Folder Options, and under View enable "Always show menus". Now go to Windows Explorer and set it up the way you want. Return to Folder Options - now you can get to it via the Tools menu - and under View select "Apply to all folders".

    alternately open a page, click organize/ select folder and search options, click the view tab and after selecting your folders to list in the open window click apply to folders oh and welcome to seven forums

    Hello Shantred,

    In additon, this tutorial can help show you how to set a default folder view for all folders in Windows 7. You will want to use General Items at step 1, then set the view to List in step 2.

I want ALL my folders to show content as details. Even if they are pictures. How do I do that? Tried the folder options in the Config Screen (sorry, trying to translate from Dutch) but that won't work, plus I'm in a wrong folder, because that's one of the few I want to see as icons...

Ok, this has gotten ridiculous. In XP, I could set my folders view to list and never have an issue. Windows 7 flat refuses to retain that setting. I have searched for days now for a solution to no avail. Surely someone has come up with a solution or registry hack to resolve this problem as it seems...

How do you change the default folder view to be "List" for all folders? I set a few manually and when I go back the view to those folders the view has changed to "titles". Is there a way to have "list" be the default view for my DVD drive as well? Thanks Artoo
