@RBCC
1. Are you getting close? No - I am not even working on it.
2. Can you help me with something? Possibly, are you going to actually help and do some of the work or are you just trying to get me to do it for you and give you the solution?
3. What security measures are there in winload.exe, ntoskrnl.exe can you point to a website that describes these? This read, which I hope you have read because joakim and I have answered this question many times, and most of those times you asked it!

The failure during unattended installation has nothing to do with the security measures that joakim and I have already found and posted how to disable in bootmgr, bootmgr.exe, and winload.exe. Most likely this is not in ntoskrnl.exe either. It is however probably some other program that scans all the system files for valid MS certificates. Something akin to SFC / WFP.

How about this. Why don't you do some research on SFC and WFP. Does it run on first boot? Does it have a list of files it scans? How does it determine if files are 'corrupt'? What happens if you run SFC after modifying the boot animation of Windows 7 machine?

This is wrong, I just needed to know where to start I looking up the files : bootres, winload and ntoskrl.

I had computer problems in consequence i was off line.

No - I am not even working on it.
After reading on your website I didn't think so.

Thanks Jeff,

Reread my ENTIRE post. In particular, the last two paragraphs (which you seemed to have ignored). I will reiterate here:

Start by looking at SFC (System File Checker) and WRP (Windows Resource Protection). This has NOTHING to do about the winload.exe, bootres.dll, ... files themselves, and I do not touch ntoskrnl.exe at all! This is some program run on first boot that is verifying that the files copied properly (and it thinks the modified files are corrupt).

@thaimin:

The biggest problem of the Xpress Huffman is to compress it without working API... We don't have mutch examples for a working Xpress Huffman compressor !

@win7expert

I have working code, although it is incredibly slow at the moment (but compresses as good as the Windows one). I have finished a Xpress (Lz) compressor that is decently fast (slower than the Windows one, but not by too much). I want to integrate what I learned from writing that one into the Xpress Huffman compressor so that I can speed it up quite a bit. I plan to release the source code this weekend for compressors/decompressors of LZNT1, Xpress (Lz), and Xpress Huffman.

@joakim
I have actually found errors with the MS-XCA document from Microsoft. I found these by compressing many files with he Windows 8 ntdll and trying to decompress them (or do the opposite). It is a good starting point, but it is missing many details and has errors.

Sounds really good. I ran into too many issues with the apis inside ntdll.dll of Windows 8, so I temporarily gave up on my code. I look forward to see what you have!

(and impressive that you found errors in the MS documentation)
