    I would try 2 things:

    1. run sfc /scannow in an elevated cmd - but if that does not fix it
    2. replace the Windows Sidebar folder in the program files. Rename the current folder into Windows Sidebar (2) - you need to take ownership - and then import a new sidebar folder from another system. Note that there is a sidebar folder in the x86 and the x64 program files.

Hmm, if the system does not boot, that is a problem. Try to run in safe mode. Power up the PC and keep tapping F8. That gets you into safe mode.
Then go to Start > all programs > accessories > Command prompt. Right click on Command prompt > run as admin. Into the little black window type sfc /scannow and hit Enter (note the blank in front of the slash).

    Hello,

You could also try to Re-register Windows Gadget related dlls

Start | CMD | Right Click and Run as administrator | Then type in the following commands

    regsvr32 msxml3.dll
    regsvr32 scrrun.dll
    regsvr32 jscript.dll

You'll see the message DllRegisterServer in <filename> succeeded for each command executed

Then rebooted the System and Test it.

    Hope this helps,
    Captain

ReBoot is basically the same as reStart, or shut off & start again.

From your specs you only show 1gb of ram memory, so you may have trouble running several gadgets.
