If you wanted to make your own, then no. You'd need to install Resource Hacker in order to add your own. But there are some people that have made some Token icon versions of the usual Windows icons, like Action Center, Network, Volume, etc. Links are here, here, and here.

If you wanted to make your own and think that installing a program would be okay for this case, then get Resource Hacker. When you get it, go to C:/Windows/System32 and find "pnidui.dll". Open that up and look around. I don't have any experience working with that particular file, so I couldn't tell you where the icons would be, but since those links for the Token icons use that file, then what you want should be in there.

If you need help replacing the files, just ask, or look up a tutorial on Google. Good luck.

    Thanks.
I wanted something like that :
OS X systray for Windows 7 V3 by ~asilaydyingdl on deviantART
I will have to google it hours, days, to fix it.
LE : i fixed the sound tray icon, like in this picture :
    http://img839.imageshack.us/i/tray.jpg/
But the lan tray icon looks funny like in this pics, so i didn't keep it :

When i used XP, i remember, after i modified, there was like a black classic phone ( osx ) the icon for the lan in the sistem tray.
    Like here : http://img291.imageshack.us/i/lantrayicon.jpg/
But this is from Flyakiteosx, which is only ( i'm not sure ) for XP
Can i have the same icon - the black phone , in Windows 7, too ?

    stereo,

This is my #3048 replacement if its any good to you.sistray icons-3048.png

The zip folder contains an .ico file and a .png file.

Don't forget that if you're running a 64 bit system you have two (different) pnidui.dll files to edit. One in C:\Windows\System32 and one in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.

To change the default icon. Take Ownership of then make copies of the system .dll files' then replace the icons I want to change using Res Hack 3.5.2 or Anolis Resourcer.
In ResHack browse to ICON GROUP, in Anolis it's called ICON DIRECTORY and replace (in this case) #3048 with the new icon. Click save. I then rename the system file (add "old" to end of file name) then paste my now "modified" system files into their original folder.

If I just want to replace a file type icon I generally use File Types Manager from Nirsoft.
