    Hi...
I didnt remove the new taskbar, i simply just went in to properties and said never group and there was it with text. I just didn't like it the icon way...
Actually i agree that it's very practical and it looks good, too :)

    Taskbar Colour

Any ideas how to change this? Seems to be the resident blue on my PC, despite updating the theme.

    Hello Bellerophon,

Check to make sure that your WEI score has been refreshed. Afterwards, you should be able to change the color of it in the Windows Color and Appearance settings.

If not, then install the latest graphics card video driver for Vista and repeat the above.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

How strange. Worked like a charm though.

You're welcome Bellerophon. I'm happy to hear it is working for you now.

If the WEI score isn't refreshed, then Windows 7 may think you are using a older graphics card that doesn't support Aero and has you using a Windows Basic color scheme instead without the color options.

I'm loving the new taskbar too. I felt slightly disorientated with it for the first 10/15 mins but it's actually very intuitive.

While I like the idea of the new taskbar, I find its implementation to be sub par. I'd like to see some sort of indication of what's running. Maybe it'd be too similar to the OSX dock, but maybe an arrow, or a glow, around currently running apps would make the taskbar much more useful to me. Or have all of the running apps line up on one side. The random mix of running apps/shortcuts throws me off a little bit.

That said, I really really like the ability to hold my mouse over the icon, have the preview window open, hold my mouse over the preview, and then have that transition to the whole screen. That part of the implementation is absolutely amazing, and very intuitive. They just need to organize it better.

The kewl thing is that items on the taskbar are drag-able.
