    Annoying gadget problem

Hello! I've got a problem with my gadgets. I've made a format of my laptop and I've upgraded my Vista 64 bit to win 7(64bit) home premium. Now it appears that there are several gadgets that are now working and acting weirdly - mainly weather, calendar and and additional gadget from my Kaspersky antivirus. Every time when I'm trying to place one gadget on my desktop- appear two, for example when I'm trying to place a weather gadget, I've got the proper one (in which I have no access to settings) placed where I wanted, and another which looks like a big icon of the gadget and freezes on my desktop in a annoying, "always stay on top" way. I can't turn it of or do anything with the annoying copy, but it disappear after reboot of the system and the aiming gadget is still not working, or it also disappears I've tried to uninstall them and restore the default ones but its not working.

Is it possible that I'm missing some drivers? or there is something messed up in my registry? Could you please help me?:)

    Hello chskylark,

    Try these steps :
Go to Start –> Search and type regedit
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Sidebar\Settings
Right Click on the right pan of the registry editor and Create A New DWORD(of 32 Bit Value). Name it “AllowElevatedProcess” and set its value as “1″.
    Close the registry

    Please share the result..

If the issue still happens, I would suggest you to reinstall the Graphice driver properly...

Thank you:) no i don't - UAC is set on a default level.

I went to the registry but I don't have 'settings' folder... there is only sidebar(with standard value set on 1) ->compability

Type Gadgets into Start/search > View list of running gadgets > delete the duplicates.

This is simple, but if it works will save all the trouble. Turn the gadget platform off. Reboot. Turn it back on.Reboot.
