You are welcome, purchasing an upgrade is a very good idea as it gives you a nice clean operating system without all the pre installed bloat ware that is usually out of date & you have the hardware to support the upgrade.
It is what i do with my own laptops then i install my own preferred choice of software & apps. have a look at this tutorial;

Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

Just make sure to back up your drivers or go to your manufacturers website and download new drivers before the upgrade
