    Hello arlsmk, have a look at this tutorial;

    Aero - Enable in Unsupported Editions of Windows 7

    Regardless it will still be dependent on your hardware, you will need a minimum of 128mb of dedicated graphics memory

    In basic there is no Aero by default.

    However you can use this third party tool to enable aero: RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting (Rapidshare link).

    P.S.: sorry Mitchell, I was typing when you posted

    Thank you for filling in your system specs it makes it so much easier for members to assist you, i can not see any problem with your hardware.
    As i have not tried this work around i can only run at a guess & try the obvious, try a simple restart if you have not already.
    Then right click on Computer and & select Properties & check the options that i highlighted in the pic

    Attachment 95859

    After that re run your index score;

    Attachment 95860

    Also right click on your desktop personalize check to see first that Aero theme is available if so then apply

    If none of these work i am at a loss but i am sure Nokian or some one else will have more ideas

    Edit: I don't know if this will be available now that you have made the changes to your home basic edition (probably not) but you could have a look in the Action Center/Troubleshooting

    Windows 7 Home Basic is available in selected regions only, Aero Transparency is however not available in this edition.

    There is however a fix on the internet we cant describe here.
