Abhishek - I'm either braindead or misunderstanding your REGEDIT proceedure. I've gotten to the point where right clicking the desktop brings up explorer OK but am still confused about the icon part of your explanation. Incidentally, I do not find the registry illustration you refer to as: "So, the Finished reg value should look like this:"

My edited register appears as follows:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT>DesktopBackground>Shell>My_Name>command
    MyName (default) = Wayne
    command (default) = explorer.exe
    command (icon) = explorer.exe,12
    command (position) = top

Hovering my cursor over any folder displayed by Explorer pops a tooltip with "Date Created", "Size", etc.

My objective was to enable the creation of user annotation for any chosen folder which would subsequently be displayed as a tooltip when cursor hovering over the folder.

    Where am I going wrong?
