Changing default folder Icon?
I was wondering if there was a way to change the default plain folder icon to one of my choice. I want to change the color from yellow, to a transparent blue one I made in PhotoShop.

Hello Cam,
You can change the default folder (not a Library folder though) icon in Windows Explorer by using HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder when you get to step 6 in the tutorial below.

Hope this helps,

Hi Brink,
I'm using Windows 7, but I followed your guide to changing the default folder icons for Vista. For some reason it only changes a couple of the default folders though. I disabled the thumbnail preview, I tried it with the ,0 at the end, I tried it with and without the quotations, I even tried the Types program. Nothing. Most of the folder icons are still default. And the icons I'm using are 256x256.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
