Ok I've eventually found a solution after trying out almost everything. Doing this on Win7 64bit.

Go to: Control Panel -> Internet Options/Properties -> Programs -> Set Programs -> Set Programs Access and Computer Defaults ; Select Microsoft Windows and click 'ok'.

Now check the All CPU Meter gadget, should be working by now.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers.
OMG it worked!!! How on earth did you ever figure out something like that?? I can't believe it.
    Thanks

Welcome to Seven Forums valentrick. Suggest you create a new user account and see if you have the same problem there. If you do not, you can transfer your user files to the new account and use that one instead. A Guy

    (Another) possible solution

Dunno if this helps anybody with this problem, but when I had this exact problem, I did a repair install of Windows 7. The last thing the install did was inform me that the .Net Framework 4 needed repairing. Once the repair completed and the computer rebooted, all my gadgets worked fine. Don't know if it was the re-install or the repair that fixed it.

    Hope this helps.
